Elegoo Smart Car
The Elegoo Smart Car is a great way to experience physics. Use the car to experience mechanics then return to it during circuitry and even expand into programming.
You can purchase the Elegoo Smart Car at Amazon if you would like to incorporate it into your own physics experience.
The smart can can be used to study velocity and acceleration. You can also incorporate circuits and expand on pretty much anything including programming with its Arduino Uno core.
The smart car has a few basic modes programmed in
- Line Tracking
- Obstacle Avoidance
- Auto Follow
- FPV mode
The car can be controlled by
- IR Remote (included)
- An app downloaded to your smart phone
Apps to control and use the FPV mode. The FPV mode allows you you to control the car using the cars camera even when the car is out of your sight.
The Elegoo software includes a block code so you don't have to know the version of C/C++ that the Arduino uses but you could if you want to modify the car.
There is a great generic beginner Arduino programming video to go through the basics. It is pretty easy to follow with my knowledge of programming. I am making a PowerPoint to put it into lessons to teach a bit of coding.
There is a YouTube channel Dronebot Workshop where he goes through the sensors and components of the smart car.
