Mass and Weight Solutions:
Natalia the astronaut has a mass of 76 kg
1. What is her weight on earth where the acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 m/s2?
Fw = mg
Fw = (76)(9.8)= 744.8 N
2. What is her weight on the moon where the acceleration due to gravity is 1.6 m/s2?
Fw = mg
Fw = (76)(1.6)= 121.6 N
3. If Natalia went to Neptune where the surface acceleration due to gravity is 11.15 m/s2, would her mass or weight change and what would each be?
Mass would still be 76 kg wither location and weight would change
Fw = mg
Fw = (76)(11.15)= 847.4 N
4. Which changes based on how close you are to another mass? (Mass or Weight)
Weight changes
